Looking Good with Spring Allergies | Sewickley Spa
If you’ve lived in the Pittsburgh area for a while, you probably know spring means one thing—allergies. Between all of the pollen and dust in the air, many of us dread what should otherwise be a pleasant time of the year. Springtime allergies can make us feel and look less than our best. Here are a few tips that will help you look your best throughout the pollen season.

Keep Your Skin Glowing

We have some great facials that can help with keeping your skin aglow. If you suffer from seasonal allergies, you may be susceptible to blotchiness or other skin irritations. Our Spa Rejuvenating Facial is the perfect choice for early spring. It helps you determine the best treatments to keep your skin happy and healthy for the season and throughout the year. It also opens and cleans your pores while gently exfoliating dead skin cells. As an alternative, you can also use a sheer highlighter with mica to add some life to your cheekbones when you’re out and about.

Alleviate Red and Puffy Eyes

Eye irritation is a big problem for many allergy sufferers. As our immune system works harder, our some of our bodies’ normal behaviors are thrown through a loop. Puffy eyes are often caused by water retention, and any of our facials that include a gentle massage can assist with that. You can also do this at home by gently and quickly tapping under your eye with your weakest finger as well as minimizing your salt intake.

Our Calming Result Remedy Facial will help soothe red eyes and skin. You’ll still want to do some make up magic though. Use a flesh toned shadow on the inner rim and bright colored shadow on the lids. This cancels out the red as well as highlights the whites of your eyes.

You’ll also want to use eye rewetting drops if you notice your eyes getting dry from repetitive use of antihistamines. Prescription free, non-medicated drops work fine for this.

Got the Red Nose Blues?

Constant sneezing and nose irritation can lead to a red, dry, flaky nose. Make sure to use thick hydrating lotions on your nose, eye cream actually works very well. Look for intense moisture lotions, with humectants and essential oils.

You could also try another of our facials, such as our Skin Renewal Result with Collagen for intense and customized hydration. This helps revitalize your skin with impressive and immediate results. With all of our facials we work with your skin to find the perfect regimen and help you understand what to do at home as well.
