Relaxing Recreation in Pittsburgh | Sewickley Spa
As summer begins, we are all eagerly looking for a chance to calm down and unwind. However, sometimes it can be hard to break out of the stereotypical routine of just relaxing by the pool. While that's a tried-and-true option, you will surely want to switch it up. Read on for some recommendations on how to relax this summer.

Yoga in the Square

Beginning in late May and running through September 29th, you can take free outdoor yoga classes thanks to the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. These one-hour classes take place in Market Square every Wednesday evening (5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.) and Sunday morning (10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.). Just bring your own mat and allow yourself to enter a state of blissful relaxation!

Take a Walk Through Phipps

One of the best parts of summer is seeing flowers in full bloom, and there is no better place than a stroll through Pittsburgh’s own Phipps Conservatory. This botanical garden features 23 distinct gardens within its 15 acres of land, and is an amazing place to relax amongst nature. While you’re there, you can even explore nearby Oakland or Schenley Park.

Explore New Parks

It is easy to fall into a routine, making it more likely to feel like you have a lack of options. So just get out there and explore what the Pittsburgh landscape has to offer! Whether it be Schenley or Frick Park, Pittsburgh has endless scenic destinations. If you are feeling energized, you can even take on some of these parks by bike. Who knows? You may even discover a new favorite place!
