How to Look Good in the Blistering Heat of Summer
Running mascara, wildly frizzy hair...summer heat and humidity can be a real drag in terms of how it makes you look and feel. You don’t have to fight with the brush in the morning or with makeup that doesn’t look right, however. From simplifying your makeup regimen to using a few key beauty products, your summer vibe will go from “not” to looking hot.

Makeup Tips

Primer

Achieving the ideal makeup look is tricky, even in perfect conditions. But in the summer, makeup may not even sit on your face correctly, much less last the whole day. A quality primer can fix both problems. Simply smooth on a light layer of liquid primer to your face prior to applying makeup, and your makeup will apply more smoothly and last longer. For additional protection regardless of how much you sweat or touch your face throughout the day, try adding a finishing spray at the end.

Lighter Makeup

Step up your makeup game during the rest of the summer by stepping back. Warm weather makeup should be fairly basic, because our faces are naturally more oily and makeup doesn’t spread as smoothly. Experts recommend avoiding extra heavy powders and foundations, which clog pores and cake up on the face, leaving a sloppy and uneven look behind. Instead, consider a light layer of cream foundation or tinted moisturizer along with liquid eye makeup to create a mild and natural-looking shine.

Waterproof

In the summertime, you’re going to sweat more, there’s just no way around it. As a result, your makeup runs down your face, destroying your morning effort. That’s why it’s so important to use makeup products that stand up to moisture for all-day longevity. Waterproof makeup is a must for your summer beauty bag. Stock up on eye products in particular, like mascara, eyeliner and waterproof eyeshadow for a flawless summer look.

Personal Health and Hygiene

Deodorant at Night

Surely you want to feel good all over during these warm months. Have you ever noticed that the deodorant label says to apply it at night? That instruction isn’t just for those who shower in the evening, or for folks who have nighttime social plans. There’s actually a reason for it: absorption. When you apply deodorant and antiperspirant before bed, your pores have more time to absorb it before you start to sweat or, well, stink.

Anti-Frizz Products

Humidity is so unpredictable. Hot days are unbearable, but the humidity also wreaks havoc with your hair! It might be limp and lifeless, but could instead become frizzy and unmanageable. In the latter case, you feel helpless to achieve a first-class look. Why not try an anti-frizz serum or shampoo to tame your tresses? Simply use and then style for a look unaffected by the elements.

Moisturizer

Because of summer sweat and increased shower frequency, we’re hydrating more rigidly but also losing moisture at a rapid pace. The result? Dry and flaky skin. That’s why skin products become essential to maintain a healthy glow. Choose an effective moisturizer and apply it once or even twice a day to combat dry skin from long days in the sun.

Body Wash

Oily skin is unpleasant, but you don’t want to strip oil completely. Hot showers and aggressive cleansers are two of the biggest culprits when it comes to dry skin. One solution here is to be mindful of the shower products you’re using, which could make things worse. Try a moisturizing body wash to balance the effects of the scorching sun and leave your body feeling smooth and refreshed.
