How to Handle Your Hands

  • 10 Jun, 2019
Our hands go through so much every day and it can really start to show. With the inevitable wear and tear our hands experience, it’s vital that we show them a little bit of TLC. Check out these tips to restore your hands to their peak health.

Dryness

Due to constant exposure, your hands can be prone to dryness. However, there are a few ways to tackle this issue. If you are already experiencing dry, rough hands, exfoliate with a hand scrub. To do this, run your hands under lukewarm water and scrub the product onto your skin in small, circular motions. This will restore your hands to a soft and healthy state.

To maintain this softness, it’s important to invest in a quality moisturizer. Great ingredients to look for are shea butter and natural oils. Apply this lotion in the mornings and evenings, or whenever your skin begins to feel dry.

Cuticles

The cuticle is the thin skin around your nail bed. Sometimes cuticles can grow out and become somewhat unruly. A cuticle remover, along with a cuticle pusher, can be used to keep them neat. Apply the remover to soften the skin so that you can easily push them back. Note: Never cut your cuticles-this can lead to infection.

Fingernails

Depending on the length, there can be a lot of dirt build up underneath your nails. This grime can be hard to remove with normal hand washing. So while washing your nails, use a good quality nail brush to scrub underneath the nail to remove any stubborn debris.

It will be easier for you to keep your nails clean if they are kept trimmed and shaped. Use nail clippers to cut the nails to your preferred length and a nail file to achieve the desired shape.
